The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) defeated China 1-0 on Wednesday in the last round of Group F matches of the AFC U-19 Championship in Liuzhou, South China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
In the first half, the two teams were active in their attacks for a winner, but no one could break the deadlock and several clear-cut opportunities were squandered.
Striker A.IL BOM scored for DPRK with a long drive in the injury time, leaving no time for the host to equalize.
The 1-0 win keeps the DPRK 12 points clear at the top.
China coach Liu Chunming said it is regretted that the team was defeated.
"The players did not behave very well in the first half. After giving some guidance during the break, they performed better in the second," he said.
"Some problems in our team exposed during the match, which are in an urgent need to be solved," added Liu.
Earlier Singapore beat Macao, China, 4-0 at the same venue.
After five-round matches, China and the DPRK advanced to the next stage of the Asian qualifying round for the World Youth Championship.
