China defeated Malaysia 1-0 on Thursday in the second round of Group F matches of the AFC U-19 Soccer Championship in Liuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
This is the host's second victory after its big-margin win over Singapore on Tuesday.
China's Yuyang contributed the only goal in the 11th minute with a header.
After losing a goal, Malaysia poured all their efforts to equalize the score but can not break China's tight defense line, while China also wasted several chances to enlarge the lead.
China coach Liu Chunming said the players implemented his guidance and performed better in the pass of the ball than the previous match.
"But they wasted so many chances to score," he added.
Earlier on the day, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) defeated Singapore 3-1 at the same venue.
China will face Chinese Macao next Monday.
